Your Role:

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze blueprints and specs to prepare accurate time, material, and labor estimates
• Support project managers with timely, competitive bids
• Assess and monitor project costs and compare against estimates throughout execution
• Work closely with vendors, clients, and internal teams or construction foremen to fine-tune proposals and resolve issues
• Prepare cost and expenditure statements along with necessary documentation throughout the duration of the project.
• Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and value-added personnel
• Maintain up-to-date cost databases, supplier directories, and estimation tools
• Participate in project handoff meetings and support project execution

What You’ll Bring:

• 3–5 years of related experience in estimating (fabrication or industrial preferred)
• Strong math and analytical skills, you love the numbers and know what they mean
• Proficient with estimation software, spreadsheets, and Microsoft Office
• Comfortable reading blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings
• Excellent communicator who can collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail

At H&S Industrial, we’re looking for a Field Estimator who can think strategically, estimate accurately, and collaborate effectively. You’ll be the bridge between what’s imagined and what’s built — working closely with project managers, field crews, and clients to bring projects to life.

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Visit job sites and assess the real-world details others miss
• Build accurate estimates for millwright, rigging, and equipment installation projects
• Work directly with clients, project managers, vendors, and field teams
• Interpret blueprints, specs, and site conditions with confidence
• Provide cost comparisons and recommendations for self-performing vs. subcontracting portions of millwright and mechanical work.
• Evaluate labor, equipment, and material needs — and make sure nothing is overlooked
• Support hand-off to project teams and stay involved from bid to closeout

 Bonus If You Have:

• Familiarity with crane, rigging, or specialty subcontractor coordination
• Knowledge of cost tracking and vendor selection
• Field experience as a millwright, foreman, or project coordinator

 

What You’ll Bring:

• 3–5 years of experience in estimating, field coordination, millwright work or combination of education and experience.
• Strong understanding of industrial mechanical installations
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills both in-office and in the field
• Ability to read blueprints, analyze scope, and anticipate challenges
• Proficiency in estimating software, database software and Microsoft Office
